A bit of a bitch and moan about the effect Darley has had in taking over the Inghams Woodlands Stud. Most people on this forum would be aware that Sepoy (Elusive Quality ex Watchful) won the Golden Slipper as well as the Blue Diamond this year. Watchful was sold to the Sheiks cousin?before Sepoy began winning Gp 1's Good move by the Darley headshed not!! In the Golden Slipper coming a very fast finishing 5th was a filly named Altar, the absolute epitome of the Inghams breeding when they owned Woodlands Stud. She is Commands ex Hosannah both Woodlands Stud homegrowns and both rather successful. In fact if you see the video the filly should have come third.
Anyway my point is this that Darley continue to sell off Woodland Stud broodmares ie those with the W and coronet above, brand despite the fact that the Inghams over the years had built their stud into the most powerful stud in Aussie.
Anyway look for Altar when she reappears in our Spring, she is very good. Also a plug for a 2yr old named Whitlam (Elusive Quality ex Weaver of Words) he's a sneaky wombat who just might win a Gp 1 this year
