| TOPOFTHEHILL asks this question on another thread and it is worthy to highlight here:There appears to me to be a much greater possibility of breeding a top class filly from a modest family than a top class colt. For some reason a filly seems to be able to do better than her pedigree would lead you to expect. This almost never happens with a colt.
