On the question of stallions siring different distance progeny, take a look at GLENEAGLES. He himself was a Champion 2-y-o (7 fur) and a dual 2000 Guineas winner and St James Palace (all 8 fur) 3-y-o. So I class him as a Miler- okay? This year he has sired three very decent runners PALLADIUM (German Gr 1 Derby ) CALANDAGAN (multi Gr winner 10/12 fur) and MILL STREAM (Gr 1 6fur winner) That is quite a variety of top class distance winners.
PALLADIUM (12fur horse) is by an 8 fur sire GLENEAGLE out of a mare by sprinter ANABAA.
CALANDAGAN (10/12 fur horse) is by GLENEAGLE out of a mare by double-derby and Arc winner SINNDAR.
MILL STREAM (6 fur horse) is by GLENEAGLES out of a mare (won over 5 and 6 fur) by HELLVELYN(won Coventry)
My analysis tells me MILL STREAM got his distance from his dam, CALANDAGAN also got his distance from his dam but PALLADIUM throws it all up in the air as a 12 fur horse out of a mare by speed horse ANABAA. So it's all guess work!
