A recent discussion - on another thread - highlighter the possibility of sprinters siring middle-distance runners etc.. At the moment there is an interesting sire in USA that has sired a top stayer and a leading sprinter. The sire is NOT THIS TIME.[Giants Causeway ex dam by Trippi]. He is the sire of sprinter COGBURN who has run 5.5fur in under 6 seconds and he is also sire of NEXT who has an astonishing record of nine wins among 10 consecutive starts from 9 1/2 to 14 furlongs - all Black Type races and he keeps winning by a huge distance. In those nine wins he won by a distance of 118.25 lengths, that is an average of 13.14 lengths per win. NOT THIS TIME himself only ran four times due to career ending injury so his true distance is guessable. In his four runs however, he won a Gr 3 and also was placed second (beaten a neck) in the B.C. Juvenile Gr 1. Interestingly he won his Gr 3 by over 8 lengths. A proven sire of top stayer and top sprinter. Pedigree experts might like to take a look! Reply
