I have been enlightened by the various opinions expressed on 'ideal' pedigrees and possible 'nicks'. Now, what about the negative sires etc.. There must be an opinion on what sires to avoid. A word of caution though, please dont knock an active sire for having a rumoured fault or unsoundness. What I am curious about is this. There are very successful mares that kept producing top-class runners - mares like URBAN SEA for instance - yet some of these successful mares have also managed to breed a 'dud' or two. I am wondering might there be a pattern of certain stallions appearing frequently in negative produce? Perhaps we could discuss this on historical results and leave the 'living' progeny to another day. Reply
