St Leger winner Continuous (Hearts Cry ex Fluff x Galileo) has a pretty classy pedigree, and an interesting one too.
His sire Hearts Cry (Sunday Silence) was a high level performer in Japan and travelled extensively like a lot of their better horses. He was a typical Sunday Silence big a bit plain looking and definitely not an early 2yo. But at 3yo he won a stakes race and finished second in the Japan Derby (G1). At 4 he won the Arima Kinen (G1) and the following year won the Sheema Classic (G1) in Dubai. He went to stud with a lot going for him and did well enough.
His pedigree is interesting too, Hearts Cry’s dam, Irish Dance is by the admirable Tony Bin who was exported to Japan after winning the Arc where he did well as a stallion. He was considered a bit unfashionably bred being by Kampala out of Severn Bridge by Hornbeam.
Continuous dam Fluff was a moderate mare winning once but she is by Galileo out a Danehill mare so she is that solid cross which does so well. Her 3rd dam Rose of Jericho is the dam of Archway by Thatching and Dr Devious (Ahonoora) who was a Champion 3yo. Rose of Jericho’s dam Rose Red is one of those less common daughters of Northern Dancer. Rose of Jericho is by dual Arc winner Alleged.
Continuous 2nd dam Sumora (Danehill ex Rain Flower x Indian Ridge) is the dam of Maybe (Galileo).
Multiple Stakes winning Maybe was sent to Japan and is the dam of Saxon Warrior (Deep Impact) another Classic and multiple stakes winner. Deep Impact is like Hearts Cry a son of Sunday Silence.
