What an impressive performance from City of Troy in the G2 Superlative Stakes at Newmarket yesterday. His demeanour was just a little 'spooky' he was completely unfazed by everything about him and the July course can be a bit claustrophobic for an inexperienced horse. A good looking horse too, a real Derby prospect IMO (I wouldn't go for the 2000 Gns it will only encourage the idiots to talk up a triple crown) His sire is doing really well with stakes winners and winners especially from his shuttle crop in Australia. He was of course a Triple Crown winner. He is out of the smart 2yo Together Forever (Fillies Mile G1). Amadan will see all the sex balanced crossing sons and daughters of Mr Prospector, and Special, The 3/4 brothers in the dam and line breeding to Hail to Reason who is also interestingly bred. O'Brien said he was a 'special' horse I only hope they treat him with a bit more resect than they have demonstrated with a lot of other smart runners. He really has the potential to fill the shoes of the departed one.
