| Trained in Ireland by John Hanlon, HEWICK won the American Grand National Steeplechase (Grade 1) at Far Hills Racecourse last night. He was ridden by Jordan Gainford. It was a great night for the Irish as Gordon Elliott also had two major winners both ridden by Davy Russell. HEWICK had been bought as a youngster for only eight hundred euro and he won the Galway Plate (Grade A) this year.
