Reading a recent report it would appear that Irish Racing attendances are declining. The average attendance in 2014 was 3,704. Now eight years later it is 2,841. The Covid presence may well have had an effect on the figures but todays figures are just 9% below the 2019 figures, so the decline is progressive as the 8 years decline is a massive 30%. It also appears that the majority of racecourses in Ireland couldn't care less about attendance as they have all their running expenses covered by the Media Rights payments. Some racecourses also appear to have little concern about sponsorship which in Ireland is down 26% in the past four years.
