My impression of the Sportsman Sale last week was that most people were paying over the odds for inferior pedigrees. My theory is that this was largely due to the Tatts Fairyhouse sale being transferred to Newmarket resulting in the Irish buyer being desperate to take something home at almost any cost. Prizemoney hasn't increased and training costs haven't gone down so why pay more for the commodity? I'm hoping that there will be much better value at Tatts 3 next week though it's a huge logisitical pain having to buy a horse in England and bring it over to Ireland. I still can't understand the wisdom of voting for Brexit. Reply
