KAMEKO was a good winner of yesterdays 2000 Guineas and from a nostalgic point of view his pedigree fascinates me! It's not the crossings etc or anything like that but what I immediately see is the influence of Vincent O'Brien!
EL PRADO - ROCK OF GIBRALTAR(A.P.O'B) - SADLERS WELLS - DANEHILL - LADY CAPULET - [all those in the first three generations] then we have SIR IVOR - ROBERTO - BE MY GUEST - EL GRAN SENOR - CAERLEON - [all in the fourth generation] .
So what I am saying is that of the 15 sires in every horses first four generations, in the case of KAMEKO, Ballydoyle trained NINE sires of the fifteen, and add LADY CAPULET for good measure. It's just an observation, I haven't thoroughly checked so there may be more!
