Dress Drive has become Yeats first winner. The 2yo out of a Cadeaux Genereaux mare won a 7 furlong maiden in Italy yesterday. I have been having a look at a few pedigrees that showed more speed than expected and this is another one. If you look through the pedigre you will find a combination of Forli, Tudor Minstrel and Abernant. This combination is seen in pedigrees of smart and speedy horses more than you might expect even though it might be long way back. The Mount Nelson horse that won a 6 furlong listed race at Ascot recently showing a lot more speed than I expected is another recent example. If you look at the pedigrees of these three stallions you will see the obvious similarities. You have to look a bit more closely at Forli but the connections are all there for everyone to see.
