Aussie racing was rocked overnight with an investigative journalism program airing on our BBC equivalent, the ABC, about money laundering in Australian racing by Aussie drug kings. The story centred on the unsolved 'hit' on Australian racing identity, Les Samba, the ex father-in-law of jockey, Danny Nikolic, who is perhaps of interest to this forum as jockey of the great filly, Mosheen, who hails from the Benediction (Ire) family. Authorities are now offering a $1mil reward for information leading to a convinction for the murder of Samba with investigations into jockey relationships with a major drug supplier using gambling to launder money. Nikolic and fellow jockey, NZ'er Jim Cassidy were mentioned repeatedly throughout the program. Jim Cassidy famously rode Might And Power to many victories, Might & Power also hailing from Benediction (Ire).
