Horse Racing Ireland are going ahead with their plan to have 60 restricted National Hunt races run in Ireland from Jan to May 2025. By restricted I mean the top four trainers in Ireland will be restricted from having a runner in any of the 60 races including bumpers, maiden hurdles, beginners' chases and handicap hurdles, which will be restricted to trainers who have had less than 50 jumps winners in either of the last two seasons. Willie Mullins, Gordon Elliott, Henry de Bromhead and Gavin Cromwell will be prohibited from entering horses in the associated races. Those trainers are considering taking legal action.
