At Goodwood in the UK overnight, former 5-time Gr1-winning Coolmore shuttler Duke Of Marmalade (Danehill-Love Me True, by Kingmambo) – now standing at Drakenstein Stud in South Africa – added a brace of Group winners to his CV when Big Orange won the Gr2 Goodwood Cup, and Simple Verse won the Gr3 Lillie Langtry Stakes. According to theguardian.com, both Big Orange and third-placed Trip To Paris (beaten just over a neck) are strong chances to make the journey south for a possible start in the Gr1 Melbourne Cup. The victories for Duke Of Marmalade come on the back of what has been a very good year in the Northern Hemisphere for the 5-time Gr1-winning son of Danehill; earlier in 2015 Star Of Seville (Prix de Diane) & Nutan (Deutsches Derby) were his first Gr1 winners. Duke Of Marmalde's best local performer to date is Gr2 Herbert Power Handicap winner Big Memory. Reply
