Some very interesting posts below but I am lost as the expressions are way beyond me. All this talk of diminishing sire lines has me confused. Here is where I am at. To me - a sire line is the top line in a pedigree. (Am I wrong about that?) and further - I thought all sire lines went back to THREE stallions, THE BYERLEY TURK, THE GODOLPHIN DARLEY and something else I just cant remember his name. I am now suspecting that I might have it all wrong so I ask can someone please start me off at the beginning.
