I know realised the reason for the comments in the other thread. What horse racing doesn't need at the moment (in the UK anyway) is a rich over privileged race horse trainers whinging about the tax costs of racing his horses in the UK. There are people over here losing their jobs every day and are confined to their houses and not allowed out for more than an hour. The media is full of people dying and families are not allowed to visit their loved ones in hospital or their homes. Headlines in the RP is that he worried about the cost of racing??? Go away and get some perspective. Absolute greedy stupid pointless whinging. Do it in private through proper channels you absolute dummy. Reply

I was being a bit provocative Little Man, but you get the gist. In this environment, you can't be banging on about tax. You have to be more sensitive. Reply

I'd call him a bully more than a dummy. Mullins likes to get his own way (the Irish Henderson). However, I agree with your basic point. Reply

I dont have the details but I think it has changed now and the 19% Vat in this case has not had to be paid upfront. From Mullins point I think he was right to highlight the situation. His runner is, after all , the first export from Ireland since Brexit and any difficulties need to be highlighted. Also, the expense Mullins highlighted was an additional expense for the owner and not himself the trainer. Reply

Ni Little Man no one on this forum. It was really both Mullins and the RP to run that headline. I felt it was not the right time to take points like this up. Reply
