In-breeding references - certainly in first four generations - is majorly about the doubling up etc of SIRES. Fair enough, it is the frequent occurence. However, have to say, my preference and interest is in-breeding to famous and proven MARES. Can we discuss that? Obviously NATALMA and URBAN SEA - to name two - are in loads of pedigrees but can we name other mares that you would like to see doubled up. For instance, in my pedigrees I look for the most proven mare in the pedigree and then see can I duplicate it in my selection of a stallion. Perhaps that is a bit weird but well, it's another angle. Comments please. Reply
