| Just another ordinary day for GALILEO !!!! He only had 5 winners. A Gr 1 + Gr 2 at Ascot and at Leopardstown three winners - a L.R. and both 2yo races.

I go back a fair bit and I never remember a sire so constantly successful - his success is truly amazing. Reply

You can't take anything away from it RL but it is difficult to compare with stallions of a different era. They didn't cover the number of horses that todays sires cover and the ownership of high class mares was never distributed as it is now with the stallion owners holding huge bands of mares. That said what is truly amazing is what he does is just another day at the office. Reply

Very good point - the masses covered these days makes the results non comparable with anything over thirty years ago. Reply
