Very impressive Lowther Stakes winner Fairyland (Kodiac ex Queenofthefairies X Pivotal.) has been quoted as low as 18 - 1 for next years 1000 gns. She is a truly fabulous looking filly as you might expect for change short of a million as a yearling. She was really good today winning narrowly after travelling well through a hot looking race. She has the look, size and speed but the stats are all against her for a mile at 3 years of age. Kodiac has only produced 2 G1 winners so far (although she may well be a third in the Cheveley Park Stakes 6f). He has produced no G1 winning 3yo's over 8 furlongs. He is overwhelmingly a sire of top class 2yo's that don't generally progress at 3yo. His 3yo stakes winners tend to be lesser winners. Queenofthefairies is by Nunthorpe winner Pivotal, out of a mare by top sprinter and sire Cadeaux Genereaux. The 3rd dam is by Green Desert and he may give a slight ray of hope as he got plenty of smart miler types. The 4th dam is by Star Appeal who was all stamina but was of little account as a sire of stakes winning runners. It looks a mountain to climb for a filly who's looks make you want her to succeed.
