Following on the thread below about what useless racehorses have been successful sires - I have another thought to ponder. A successful sire can be judged by the high nomination fee and full books of mares etc. So let us perhaps discuss those brilliant sires who rose from the bottom to the top purely on their success. For instance, three that come to my mind immediately are Irish National Stud based LEVMOSS, INDIAN RIDGE and AHONOORA. The sire that goes from low fee to top fee has to be the real success story - but do they pass it on?
