Dual Group 1-winning filly Shoals will miss the remainder of the autumn carnival to prepare for a possible trip to Royal Ascot in June, reports racing.com. The blue blooded Shoals, who was last seen doubling her Gr1 tally when adding the Surround Stakes in Sydney to her Myer Classic victory in the spring, is set to run in the $1 million Gr1 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) in Adelaide in May before a potential overseas campaign. "We are just treading water with her at the moment," trainer Anthony Freedman said. "She'll probably go to the Sangster so won't go back to Sydney." Freedman added: "We just thought Sangster was the perfect race and if she won there, I think there would be a strong push to do the UK thing. It's certainly still an option." In 2012, the connections of Black Caviar also used the Robert Sangster as a final lead-up to her historic win in the Gr1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot. Bred by John Messara's Arrowfield Stud, who race her in partnership with Jonathan Munz's Pinecliff Racing, Shoals (Fastnet Rock-The Broken Shore, by Hussonet) has won 6 of her 9 starts for over $1.3 million in earnings.
