In a previous thread Mark One suggested that the Dubawi x Galileo cross would be successful but questions whether it was because they were great sires or because the number of foals bred on the cross was so high. Well its really interesting because if you look at the cross now and I fully accept its early days The Dubawi x Galileo cross is doing well with 3 stakes winners including G1, G2 and G3 whereas the Galileo x Dubawi cross is not doing as well. There are 3 stakes winners but but no G1 or G2 just a G3 and listed. The Dubawi cross is running at about x3 of average success with 7+% G1 winners to runners and 14+% SW to runners. This is possibly unsustainable but is actually a staggering rate of success. The really interesting thing to me is that the Galileo x Dubawi stakes winners are out of lower status mares and NONE are by Galileo (2 x Teofilo 1 x New Approach). So is that because Galileo has not covered and Dubawi mares or because he does not work with Dubawi mares, or is Dubawi already indicating that he is not going to be a great broodmare sire.

Galileo is running good number against the general population 2.45% G1 winners and 12.11% SW as a broodmare sire so maybe, just maybe its not going to be such a hot cross.
Actually there is every reason to suggest it should be with very high indicators for Sadlers Wells x Shirley Heights but as things stand (and it is very early) its not looking so great.
