One of Europe's leading 2YO Gr1 races has fallen to a runner trained out of the North of England, reports guardian.com. North Yorkshire trainer Karl Burke actually went one better than claiming the lion's share of the €190,000 purse. Run over 1200m for 2YOs, Burke's colt Havana Grey (Havana Gold) led proceedings for some time before surrendering to the stable's second colt Unfortunately (Society Rock-Unfortunate, by Komaite) who had been biding his time off the pace. Unfortunately came into the race with strong form to recommend him, having captured the Gr2 Robert Papin (1100m) at his previous start. A €24,000 yearling buy from Tally-Ho Stud at Tattersalls' September Sale, Unfortunately took his record to 3 wins & 2 runners-up from 6 starts for £268,201 earnings.
