Racing NSW stewards have charged former Godolphin managing director Henry Plumptre and head trainer John O'Shea for their failure to report a case of strangles. The charges were issued in relation to the racehorse Polemic which was infected with strangles in August 2016. Mr Plumptre was charged under rule AR64K(2) for not reporting to Racing NSW as soon as possible that Polemic was infected with strangles from on or about 5 August 2016. O'Shea was charged under AR175(l) for being a party to Mr Plumptre committing a breach of AR64K(2) for not reporting the strangles case to Racing NSW as soon as possible. He was additionally charged under AR175(g) for providing false and/or misleading evidence to stewards. The hearing of the charges has been scheduled to be conducted at the offices of Racing NSW (Level 11, 51 Druitt Street, Sydney) at 10:30am today. Reply
