Meanwhile, multiple Group One winner Belardo (Lope de Vega-Danaskaya, by Danehill) will stand his first season at Haunui Farm for a service fee of $12,000 + GST, reports NZ Racing Desk. Crowned Champion European 2YO in 2014, the Irish-bred Belardo won 5 of his 16 starts including the Gr1 Dewhurst Stakes (7 furlongs) as a 2YO and the Gr1 Lockinge Stakes (8 furlongs) at four. Haunui is once again teaming up with Darley to bring Belardo to New Zealand. "He's a very high class racehorse. He performed at Group One level in every season he raced," Chitty said. "He was a Group One-winning autumn two-year-old, who trained on as a four-year-old to win a Group One mile.” Chitty added: “His effort behind Teppin (in the Gr1 Queen Anne Stakes) last year was voted the best male performance at Royal Ascot. We look forward to him arriving at the end of July." Reply
