Despite an earlier intimation that both Wings of Eagles and Cliffs Of Moher could tackle next month's Irish Derby, racingpost.com reports last Saturday's Gr1 Epsom Derby quinella duo might now be split up. Wings of Eagles showed himself to be a genuine stayer with his rattling finish and is favoured to stick to the Irish Derby route where he will likely clash with Eminent. Trainer Aidan O'Brien suggested Cliffs Of Moher could be better suited to the shorter journey of the Gr1 Eclipse Stakes (1 mile, 2 furlongs) at Sandown a week after the Irish Derby, noting, "We were delighted with Cliffs Of Moher, who's not short of speed. Before Chester we weren't sure if he would get a mile and a quarter. Ryan Moore felt Cliffs Of Moher travelled with a lot of pace through the race and got a bit tired." Reply
