Gr1 Racing Post Trophy winner Rivet (Fastnet Rock-Starship, by Galileo) is set to open his classic season in the Craven Stakes at Newmarket next week, reports Sky Sports. The 3YO marked himself as a genuine 2000 Guineas contender after winning the Doncaster feature on his final juvenile outing, but trainer William Haggas wants to test him once more at Newmarket after he failed in the Gr1 Dewhurst Stakes (5th) at his penultimate 2YO start. "He'll go to the Craven…I need to find something out about Newmarket," said Haggas. "The jockey said he didn't like the track last year [in the Dewhurst] and I have a niggling doubt that wasn't the reason he didn't run to form, so I'd like to find about before the Guineas." Reply
