Godolphin's impressive debut winner Marsupial will press his claims for Victoria's richest juvenile event when he contests Saturday's Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) for colts and geldings at Caulfield. A Darley homebred by Street Cry out of the stakes winning Exceed And Excel mare Koala Bear, the aptly named Marsupial posted a stylish 2.3 length win over 1200 metres at Canterbury last month to put himself in the picture for the $1.5 million Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) on 25 February. "He's had a look at Caulfield this week and seemed to handle it well enough," trainer John O'Shea said. "The draw gives him the chance to take a good position. I'll make a decision on where he goes next after Saturday." Marsupial will be ridden by Ben Melham and has drawn barrier five in the field of 14.
