Trainer Ciaron Maher is bullish about Jameka's first-up prospects in Saturday's Gr1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) after the star mare turned in a brilliant piece of track work at Caulfield yesterday morning, reports Racing.com. The Caulfield Cup winner worked solo over 1000 metres impressing Maher ahead of the $500,000 weight-for-age feature. "She worked super, she looked sharp and quickened up over the last 200 metres," Maher said. "She is always a great worker, but she does look sharper this time around." He added: "A smallish field would definitely help her on Saturday, but we'll just wait and see how it unfolds; either way I'm really happy with how she's going in." Seventeen top-class gallopers have been entered for the Orr, including Gr1 winners Black Heart Bart, Palentino, Awesome Rock, Lucky Hussler, Malaguerra, Turn Me Loose, Divine Prophet, He's Our Rokkii, and unbeaten mare Abbey Marie. Jameka's primary autumn target is the Gr1 Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington on 11 March. Reply
