Champion French mare Treve gave birth to her first foal, a bay colt by Darley's flagship stallion Dubawi, at midday on Wednesday at Haras de Bouquetot, reports Racing Post. "Treve has produced a good first foal. Everything went well and after being a few days overdue she decided to foal at lunchtime," said Benoit Jeffroy, stud manager at Haras de Bouquetot. "Treve and her foal are doing really well. The next chapter to the story starts now, and we can only hope this colt will be as fast as his parents!" Treve's 2017 scheduled mating is with Haras de Bouquetot's new stallion Shalaa. Trained by Criquette Head-Maarek, Treve (Motivator), who will best remembered as a two-time winner of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, retired in October 2015 with 9 wins - six at Gr1 level - from 13 starts for £5,939,665 earnings. She is one of only seven horses to have won Europe's weight-for-age championship twice. Reply
