Dual Gr1-winning sprinter and Tally-Ho Stud resident Society Rock (Rock of Gibraltar-High Society, by Key of Luck) has died at the age of nine after suffering from the hoof disease laminitis, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. Society Rock won 6 of his 23 starts, including the Gr1 Golden Jubilee Stakes & Gr1 Haydock Sprint Cup, for earnings of £1,044,254. "We're very disappointed to lose him as we were very fond of him, he had nice yearlings and good foals," said Tally-Ho Stud owner Tony O'Callaghan. "It all happened very quickly and we were all upset by it. He was a great racehorse and he was good to us. He covered about 80 mares this year and he was very popular, his book always filled up. We'll look forward to seeing his produce in the future." Society Rock's oldest progeny are yearlings. Reply
