In US breeding news, Cinco Charlie, a Graded stakes-winning juvenile and seven-time black-type winner by Indian Charlie, has been retired from racing and will enter stud at B. Wayne Hughes' Spendthrift Farm in Lexington, KY as the newest participant in the Share The Upside program for 2017. "Cinco Charlie is a fast, precocious, and great-looking son of Indian Charlie. We've seen the success of Uncle Mo, and we are very high on Liaison and the offspring we're seeing from him. So, it's a sire line with a lot of upside, and Cinco Charlie has won more stakes races than any Indian Charlie at stud," said Ned Toffey, Spendthrift General Manager. The Share The Upside fee for Cinco Charlie will be $5,000 for just a single-year commitment in 2017, and breeders will earn a lifetime breeding right beginning in 2018 after having one live foal and paying the stud fee. For those not interested in the Share The Upside program, Cinco Charlie will also be offered for $5,000 on a standard stands and nurses contract. Both the Share The Upside and Breed Secure programs are available at Spendthrift Australia which currently stands Hampton Court, Jimmy Creed and Warrior's Reward at its Romsey-based stud farm in Victoria.
