Haras d'Etreham, breeders of Gr1 Irish Champion Stakes & French Derby winner Almanzor, in partnership with SF Bloodstock, have purchased a half share in the star French colt, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. "There had been offers for the horse from abroad and this affords an opportunity both for Almanzor himself and for Wootton Bassett with the certainty that the horse will run at four," said Etreham director, Nicolas de Chambure. "That was one of the motivating factors in our decision to act. It also underlines the desire of SF to return to the French scene." Almanzor (Wootton Bassett-Darkova, by Maria's Mon), the highest rated horse in Europe this season, will make his next appearance in the Gr1 Champion Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
