| At Royal Randwick in Sydney, Darley's former Champion Australian Sire Exceed And Excel (Danehill-Patrona, by Lomond) added a black-type success when 2YO Godolphin filly Jorda (Exceed and Excel-Montmelo, by Viscount) scored by 0.8 length for trainer John O'Shea in the $150,000 Listed Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) for 2YO fillies, over fellow 2YO fillies Kanga's Eye (Denman-Watchme, by Bel Esprit) & Lucky Louie (Pluck-La Bella Luisa, by Clang). Jorda's debut victory took her record to 1 win form 1 start for $89,100 in earnings.
