A filly by Galileo has taken out top honours at Tuesday's opening session of the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale which saw both the average and median prices increase by eight per cent from last year. Turnover was also up by five per cent to €20,547,000. Consigned by Ballylinch Stud, the filly is out of the 14-year-old Theatrical mare Green Room and is a sister to Gr1 Fillies' Mile winner Together Forever and half-sister to Gr1 Prix Jean Prat winner Lord Shanakill. Coolmore's MV Magnier outbid Amanda Skiffington to secure the filly for €900,000. "It seems that with anything regarding Galileo, you can't go wrong," Magnier told Racing Post. "Whether it's seven-furlong horses or Derby types, two-year-olds, three-year-olds or older horses, he gets them all. And as a broodmare sire he seems to work with anything." The other major highlight of the day was the Frankel half-brother to Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Bago and dual Gr1 winner Maxios which was knocked down to Adrian Nicoll for €750,000. Bred by the Niarchos family, the colt is out of the Nureyev mare Moonlight's Box, a daughter of champion 2YO filly and blue hen Coup De Genie. Reply
