A filly by War Front who hails from the family of last weekend's Irish Gr1 National Stakes winner Churchill became the second highest priced lot on day one of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale when knocked down to John Ferguson on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed for US$900,000, reports Blood Horse. Consigned as Hip 166, the filly is the first foal out of the Gr3 winning Galileo mare Aloof, herself a daughter of Champion 2YO English filly Airwave (winner of the Gr1 Cheveley Park Stakes). "She's a beautiful filly, very athletic, and obviously the sire, War Front, has done very well over the last few years and he's just progressing and building, and being out of a Galileo mare makes her very attractive," said Ferguson. "It's a great family, we're delighted to have her not only as a racehorse but also as a future broodmare." Ferguson said the filly was likely to race in Europe. Reply
