Trip To Rhodos, the first horse from the Czech Republic to ever be entered in the Melbourne Cup, has been ruled ineligible for the race due to quarantine regulations, reports racing.com. "The Australian government has advised that as it does not have an agreement with the Czech Republic for the importation of horses into Australia, Trip To Rhodos must spend 60 days in a country approved for import before travelling to Melbourne," a Racing Victoria statement said. "A subsequent request for special exemption for the horse has been denied, thus ruling out the chance of him competing in this year's Melbourne Cup." Racing Victoria says it intends to address the issue so that horses from that part of the world are allowed to travel to Australia in the future. Reply
