With yesterday marking the opening day of the 2016 breeding season in Australia, one of the most celebrated mares to visit the breeding shed was high profile blue hen Helsinge, dam of champions Black Caviar and All Too Hard. Helsinge was covered by brilliant young stallion Written Tycoon (Iglesia-Party Miss, by Kenmare), who stands at Woodside Park in Victoria, and who has an exceptional book of mares lined up in 2016. Helsinge, a daughter of Desert Sun and the exceptional broodmare Scandinavia, currently has three fillies that are yet to race: Naturale (2012, by Bel Esprit), Brigite (213, by Casino Prince) & a 2015 filly by Canford Cliffs.
