After nearly four weeks of the 2016-17 racing season, Arrowfield's Gr1-winning stallion Snitzel maintains an early lead on the national sires leader board with progeny earnings of nearly $700,000. In second position is Woodside Park's Written Tycoon, while Darley's world-class stallion Exceed And Excel rounds out the top three. The Top Ten stallion rankings (according to arion.co.nz as at 25 August) are:
