At Deauville racecourse in France, European champion 4-time Gr1-winning former Darley shuttler Shamardal (Giant's Causeway-Helsinki, by Machiavellian) celebrated an elite success when 4YO UK-bred mare Speedy Boarding (Shamardal-Dash to the Front, by Diktat) scored by 1.75-lengths for trainer James Fanshawe in the Gr1 Prix Jean Romanet (10 furlongs) for 4YO+ mares, over fellow 4YO mares Ame Bleue (Dubawi-Aquarelliste, by Danehill) & Steip Amach (Vocalised-Ceist Eile, by Noverre). This was the first top-flight success for Speedy Boarding who advanced her record to 4 wins (including the Gr2 Prix Corrida) and 2 placings from 10 starts. Fanshawe said Speedy Boarding will be entered in the Gr1 Prix de l'Opera.
