Star Kiwi filly (the bucking bronco) Sofia Rosa (Makfi-Bislieri, by Encosta de Lago) boarded a flight bound for Australia yesterday evening to continue her preparation for the spring carnival in Melbourne, reports theinformant.co.nz. Cambridge trainer Stephen Marsh said the Australian Oaks winner will be aimed at the Gr1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) on 15 October. "We loaded her on to a float to Auckland earlier today [Wednesday]," Marsh said. "She looked a million dollars this morning [Tuesday]. We just hope she travels over well and arrives over there still looking the same." He added: "I can't fault her so far in her build-up and everything's going well with her." Sofia Rosa, who races in the same distinctive lime green silks as star Kiwi mare Lucia Valentina on behalf of owner Lib Petagna, is set to resume in the Gr1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday week (27 August). She will then progress to the Gr1 Makybe Diva Stakes, Gr1 Turnbull Stakes and finally the Caulfield Cup. Reply
