Woodside Park Stud's banner stallion Written Tycoon has just written his own major piece of Australian racing history by becoming the highest stakes money earning stallion in Victorian history. Australian based racehorses by Written Tycoon have now amassed more than $10 million in prize money, eclipsing the previous record of $7.3 million set by Bel Esprit. Adding to this notable feat, Written Tycoon is also now the sire of the world's highest ever stakes winning 2YO in Capitalist. The Golden Slipper and Magic Millions winner has so far earned $3,508,000 after winning four of his five starts. Capitalist has surpassed the previous benchmark of $3.1 million set by the Gai Waterhouse-trained Dance Hero in 2003-2004. "When we were able to secure Written Tycoon, we had no idea that in a few short years he would become one of the most commercial stallions in the country," said Woodside's Bloodstock and Sales Manager, Matt Tillett. Written Tycoon is also the first Victorian stallion of the modern era (since Group racing was introduced) to sire two Group 1 winning two-year-olds in the same season. He also joins illustrious company (Century and Showdown) as only the third Victorian stallion to produce a Golden Slipper winner. Written Tycoon's star rising 3YO son Capitalist is now being prepared for a spring campaign and is entered to run in Heat 3 of the Kensington trials at Randwick today at 8:35am. Reply
