how the hell are they (Whisper Hill Farm) going to recoup even a fraction of that purchase price? The mare needs to spit out very good looking foals but with the right paper pedigree to attract buyers to inspect, let alone buy the foals. Maybe over 4-5 yearling sales, she may recoup the $3m but there have been service fees and keep to be paid in the meantime.
