Only five runners in Germany- Baden Baden but in the Arc Trial NOVELLIST won but struggled to hold off the opposition, IN MY OPINION. I know nowt about what he beat but the pace was pathetic. Yet after about five furlongs NOVELLIST who had to go on in front was finally joined and lead BY HIS STABLE COMPANION !! What on earth were HIS riding instructions. Not a good experience for NOVELLIST today.
