Promising 3YO Suspense (Keano-Intrigues, by Night Shift) is likely to be stepped up to stakes company in the autumn after maintaining his unbeaten record at Canterbury yesterday. The half-brother to Gr1 winning sprinter Mental took his record to 3 wins from as many starts when coming from off the pace to score by 1-length in the Tab More Than Just Winning Handicap over 1250m. Co-trainer Paul Snowden said the stable had always had a good opinion of the gelding's ability and would now give him a chance to prove himself at black-type level. "He's a horse with plenty of ability and he just keeps stepping up to the plate," Snowden told Sky Racing. "He's certainly a stakes quality horse and it's a good time of year to be targeting those sorts of races." He added: "He's a VOBIS qualified horse as well so I'd say we'll be down in Melbourne hopefully to chase some of those riches as well." Reply
