BRUCE Clark, the face of racing television station TVN, has been suspended after an inquiry into "shares for comment".
Sources confirmed he was stood down on Tuesday for three months.

He did not cover yesterday's Sandown races.

Presenters Caroline Searcy and Dean Pettit were also suspended after an investigation into claims they accepted free shares in a racehorse.

TVN's acting chief executive Stephen Dole last night said he had no comment other than the company was dealing with a "human resources matter".

The industry-owned TVN began the investigation after former jockey Pettit said on air in mid-March that he had a share in an imported runner in Sydney.

Dole called the trio to Melbourne headquarters soon after, saying TVN was prohibited from discussing the issue publicly.

The decision to stand them down was made after almost three months of investigation. Questions were asked whether the part-ownership, if offered for free, breached Corporations Act equity rules requiring stakeholders have equity in the thoroughbreds.

It is not known if the trio has been stood down without pay.

Clark has been the face of TVN since it began in 2006.

The station is owned by the three Victorian metropolitan clubs, Country Racing Victoria and the Australian Turf Club in NSW.

Searcy has worked as co-host with Richard Callander at the Sydney races for the past four years.

Pettit has worked with TVN for the past five years.

The Herald Sun is not suggesting that Clark, Searcy or Pettit are guilty of the allegations.
