U.S. racing is in the pits as far as I can see. The Breeders Cup have now reversed their commitment to banning Lasix (Salix) on all Breeders Cup races and instead have reversed to just banning it in 2-y-o races. Darley's representative on the B.C. Board - Oliver Tait - has resigned from the Board in protest. He is quoted saying "The Breeders' Cup has reversed its previously agreed and stated position that the 2013 Breeders' Cup World Championships will be conducted without Lasix. As a consequence, I have resigned from the board of the Breeders' Cup."
